Version 2026-10-09. TechTotz is run by [legal entity name and address] .

We built TechTotz for families, so we try to collect as little as we can and to be plain about what we do with it. This page explains it.

What we collect

About you (the parent or guardian): your email address, your name, a password (stored only in scrambled form), and the household preferences you choose, such as parenting style, tone and goals. Payments are handled by Stripe, so we never see or store your card number.

About your child, from you: first name or nickname, birthdate, reading level, interests, and themes to include or avoid. We do not ask for a child's photo, address, phone number or exact location.

Created as your child learns: which skills they have mastered, quiz and game results, the quests they choose, points earned, favourites, and the stories, lessons and games we generate for them.

Technical: a login cookie to keep you signed in, and ordinary server logs.

How we use it

To run the service: to personalize lessons and stories, to work out which skill suits your child next, to show you their progress, to take payment, to keep the service secure, and to answer your questions.

We do not sell personal information. We do not use children's personal information for advertising, and we do not build advertising profiles of children.

Who we share it with

Only service providers who help us run TechTotz, and only what they need:

  • Google (Gemini): in the live service, prompts that include a child's first name, age, reading level, interests and themes are sent to Google's Gemini API so it can write stories, lessons, pictures, audio and quiz questions. [Confirm your Google plan does not use this data to train models, and sign Google's data-processing terms.]
  • Stripe: payments and subscriptions.
  • Email delivery: [your email provider] , to send account and story emails.
  • Hosting and infrastructure: [your hosting provider] .

We may also share information if the law requires it, or to protect the safety of a child or our users.

Children's privacy

TechTotz is meant for children, but accounts are created and controlled by a parent or legal guardian. We ask for your consent when you sign up, before we collect a child's information, and we collect only what is needed to personalize learning.

You can review your child's information, download it, correct it, or delete it at any time in Settings. Deleting a child's profile deletes their progress and everything we generated for them. If you no longer agree to how we use your child's information, delete the profile or contact us.

We will not require a child to share more information than is reasonably necessary in order to take part.

Your choices and rights

You can download your family's data and permanently delete your account and everything tied to it from Settings. Depending on where you live, you may have extra rights, such as asking what we hold, correcting it, or objecting to some uses. [Lawyer: add state or country specific rights, for example California, and an EU or UK representative if you serve those places]

To ask us anything, use our contact form [or email: privacy contact address] .

How long we keep it

We keep your information while your account is open. When you delete a child or your account, we delete the related data from our live systems straight away, and from backups within [number] days. We may keep payment and tax records for as long as the law requires.

Some content you create and share publicly, such as a community activity you publish, may remain without your name.

Keeping it safe

We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including encrypted connections, hashed passwords and limited staff access. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your information we will tell you as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we make a material change we will tell you, and if the change affects how we use children's information we will ask for your consent again. The version number above shows which text you are reading.
